We accomplished a lot together in 2023. All in all, together we funded nearly 25% of the MIYFS Department, and in partnership with the City of MI and City Council, we ensured MIYFS’s critical services remain fully funded. This is community support in action.

Food Security- 5,551 visits
  • 173 households (5,551 visits) accessed Food Security supports (40% increase from 2022).
Senior Supports – 63
  • 25 seniors and older adults received individual case management, support and home-visit services.
  • 38 adult children of seniors received consultation and referral services.
Emergency Assistance – 240
  • 240 families received rent/utility or school/holiday assistance.
In-School Counseling Supports – 4,483
  • 1,644 Elementary
  • 1,641 Middle School
  • 1,198 High School

In total, 4,483 students received school-based individual, group or classroom-based counseling and mental health supports.

Parent Consultation – 708
  • 708 parent sessions with YFS school-based counselors.
Outpatient Counseling – 139
  • 139 children, adults, families and couples received formal counseling services.
