We accomplished a lot together in 2024. All in all, together we funded nearly 25% of the MIYFS Department, and in partnership with the City of MI and City Council, we ensured MIYFS’s critical services remain fully funded. This is community support in action.

Food Security
  • 143 households utilized food cards (1/1 – 4/24)
  • 93 households (1776 visits) utilized the Mobile Market (4/25 – 12/31) 
Emergency Assistance

292 households utilized holiday and back to school programs (supplies, gifts, additional food)

Senior Supports

91 seniors and older adults received specialized case management, group, and support services. 

In-School Counseling Supports
  • 1,770 Elementary
  • 875 Middle School
  • 430 High School

3175 students enrolled in the Mercer Island School district (of 4070), received either counseling services, social-emotional skills building, special education support, drug/alcohol education/ intervention, or classroom education.

Outpatient Counseling

175 clients including children, families, adults, and seniors received outpatient mental health counseling services (2,752 appointments) for issues including anxiety/depression, stress, trauma, history of abuse, drug/ alcohol intervention, and marital/ family conflict.
