“Enough As She Is”: Parent Edge Series on Feb. 12, 7pm

By February 2, 2020No Comments

Throughout the year, MIYFS partners with many organizations including MI Parent Edge on various programs to support our youth, parents, families and educators. MI Parent Edge is a non-profit organization that is part of the Mercer Island PTA Council and is comprised of representatives from the PTAs of all MISD schools and MIPA.

We would like to extend a special invitation to join us for “Enough As She Is” with bestselling author, Rachel Simmons on February 12, at 7PM at MIHS. Rachel will be speaking about her book “Enough As She Is: How to help girls move beyond impossible standards of success to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.”  Girls have never been more successful, yet they’ve also never struggled more with anxiety, stress and depression. In this presentation, Rachel will translate the toxic messages about achievement that girls have internalized and parents will gain tools to help girls practice self-compassion, redefine success, pursue purpose, and—most importantly—let them know they are enough as they are.

Attendees are must register to attend. This event is free for MIPTA members and $20 for non- members. To register, visit www.miparentedge.org.
