More than 23,000 people call Mercer Island home. And for 39 years, Mercer Island Youth and Family Services have helped Mercer Islanders take care of their own.

We want to be certain that families have their basic needs met and that young minds are healthy and able to focus on school. We want our teachers, police and firefighters to have the support they need to do their jobs well. We want our children to make good choices about drug and alcohol use, and we want our seniors to understand the options available to them as they age. We want Islanders young and old to be engaged, connected and giving back to their community. We are the only organization on the Island that does what we do.

With only 17% of revenues coming from the City of Mercer Island’s general fund, MIYFS is heavily dependent upon the generosity of the Island community. It’s simply the way that Islanders take care of their own.
